Our Story

How it all started...

My wife Tiffany and I met at a small church in Plano, TX in 2009 and at first glance I knew she would be my wife even if she didn’t  yet. After a few years of navigating career changes, moving across the country, and heartfelt moments we eventually married in 2013 and have three beautiful kids. We have worked in ministries that have scaled to thousands of people in the North Texas area for going on a decade with me working online ministries and Tiffany leading in worship and other various ministries. Within the past year or so we have felt a stirring within both of our souls to begin a church plant that focuses on the power of God, through the Spirit of God, for the glory of God. This calling has been confirmed through prayers, spiritual mentors, friends, and advisors that we have been in communication with. We are grateful and humbled for the opportunity to be a part of the work God is already doing in the Garland area.

Why Garland?

Simply put, because God has called us to the city of Garland. We have a vision for reaching the city of Garland because we see the opportunities to reach an area that is made up of a city where 18.5% of the population are non citizens, over 55% of the population is ethnically diverse, paired with strong economic diversity allows us to see the fullness of the kingdom of God within our own church. We have a community of members and staff that have experience reaching this area because they themselves come from these very same communities. Our vision is to create a church that is a refuge for the people of God, a beacon of hope for a city longing for joy, and a space where the Spirit of God can rest upon His people.

Why Disciple First?

We believe that the church today, more than ever before, needs to meet people where they are. We are to take Jesus, his message of love on display at
the cross, into people's respective fields, where they live, learn, work, and play. The Gospel is not just to be experienced on a Sunday morning but in every aspect of one's life. Kingdom expansion takes root when individual hearts are transformed through the power of the Gospel and men, women, and children are led to be representatives of Christ where God has placed them Monday through Saturday.
